Sarteneja is the most important fishing community in Belize with a strong and unique tradition in boat building. Peter Young in the 50's was the first boat builder in Sarteneja with now an active community of master craftsmen. To meet this community is a privilege and it should be a model and a base for a more respectful world in the future. Tourism or developments for retired North-american did not yet destroy this village but we need to be really careful and create alternatives to give our community happiness and a positive future.
